CRYSTAL ROSS

She graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge with a Bachelors of Science in Speech Pathology in 1985. After working five years in West Palm Beach School District she made an executive decision to return to Southern University and obtain a Masters of Education degree in Speech Communications Disorders. The vast years of experience working as a Speech – Language Pathologist placed Crystal to work in various settings such as Outpatient Speech Therapy Clinics, Private Practice, Home Health setting, SNF (Skilled Nursing Facility), Sub-acute and Acute Hospital settings, Rehabilitation Hospitals, local Children’s Hospitals and Local School Districts.

Crystal has held licenses to practice speech pathology in the states of Texas (current), Louisiana, Florida and West Virginia. She is also a certified member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). She prides herself in holding a special place in her heart to treat individuals with various disabilities regardless of age. Past and current setting includes the treatment of dysphagia (swallow disorders) in infants recently discharged from NICU; LSVT – Loud voice treatment for individuals with Parkinson’s disease; performing Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) on individuals with dysphagia to rule out aspiration; stroke recovery and executive functioning; communication disorders associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders; cognitive – linguistic and pragmatic disorders associated with ADHD, Brain Injury, etc.

Crystal enjoys traveling, volunteering for local charities, reading, taking courses to advance her skills in speech pathology and cooking. Crystal founded, and is currently serving as a mentor for a group of college girls seeking guidance in everyday life activities, adjusting to the college life, maintaining dignity and self worth, identity of self, maintaining self esteem, educational guidance and leadership and gaining a bond of sisterhood. She also has one son and a pet rabbit who both keep her extremely busy.
